What I do

Whether you've found me through the content I've published, a referral, or just stumbled upon my website out of the blue, here are some of the things I do.

Documentation & resources

If you're just getting started with Android Enterprise, or looking to brush up on some of the finer nuances of the platform, I provide in-depth & easy to understand documentation across a range of topics within the Android Enterprise ecosystem absolutely free of charge.

I've published over 100 docs and FAQs to date, and add to and/or update my content on a regular basis.

Take a look at some of the latest docs, or head on over to /android to dive into the full library.

Community support

On most days of the week you'll find me contributing to one of three main communities:

  1. The Android Enterprise Customer Community
  2. The Mobile Pros expert community (co-founder)
  3. LinkedIn

I pop up occasionally in other places, but you'll always find me in the above, where I contribute several hours a week towards partner, peer, and customer questions & issues, publish new and interesting news and/or viewpoints on topics in the ecosystem, and help out wherever else I can.

Consultancy

If you're looking for expert help, I offer consulting services across the whole Android ecosystem, not limited to:

  • Product selection and validation
  • EMM deployments, migrations, healthchecks, risk assessments
  • Environment troubleshooting & deployment support
  • OEM, EMM, MSP subcontracting
  • GMS certification

Whether you're an organisation deploying devices, an EMM integrating the Android Enterprise solution set, an OEM bringing enterprise-first devices to market, or anything else, I can probably help.

Product validation

I work with EMMs and OEMs across the ecosystem to review, validate, and improve their Android Enterprise products and services. On any given month I receive access to a new EMM platform to review, or an Android device (consumer, rugged, dedicated, bespoke) to put through its paces.

Described as Android Enterprise Recommended testing on steroids, my product validations have been used in sales decks the world over to demonstrate a partner's ability to execute on Android across all major EMMs, OEMs, or other vendor solutions.

What is Play Auto Install (PAI) in Android and how does it work?

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when you're presented with a list of recommended applications on device setup? Now you'll know.

AMAPI publicly adds support for DPC migration

The PlayEMM API, on which custom DPC-based EMM solutions are built, has had a looming deprecation over it for some time. This is the first such public example of both the intention to migrate devices into AMAPI, and the DPC migration solution debuted back in 2019.

How do Android devices become certified?
