How to view software version information

To view the software information of your Android device, including Android version, build number, baseband version, do the following:

Android version

#
  1. Open Settings
    1. Either swipe up from the home screen to display the app drawer, and select settings, or
    2. Swipe down from the notification area and tap the settings icon present in the notification panel.
  2. Tap About device
  3. Scroll down until Android version comes into view. This is the major OS release your device is running (EG. 13).

Build number

  1. Open Settings
    1. Either swipe up from the home screen to display the app drawer, and select settings, or
    2. Swipe down from the notification area and tap the settings icon present in the notification panel.
  2. Tap About device
  3. Scroll down until Build number comes into view. This is the minor OS release your device is running (EG. U1B2.230922.010).

Baseband

#
  1. Open Settings
    1. Either swipe up from the home screen to display the app drawer, and select settings, or
    2. Swipe down from the notification area and tap the settings icon present in the notification panel.
  2. Tap About device
  3. Tap Android version
  4. Baseband version will be displayed

OEM discrepancies

Though these settings should usually reside where indicated, note OEMs have the ability to customise this. Please use the Settings search function to locate these respective areas (Searching on Android version, Build number, and Baseband respectively).
